• While I took classes on art and painting as an undergraduate at the University of Connecticut, I didn’t pursue it for many years. My love for painting was renewed in 2000 when I began taking classes with Walt Bartman at the Yellow Barn Studio and Gallery in Glen Echo, Maryland, where I have had two shows.

As a landscape painter inspired by the impressionists, I try to capture the essence of the environment that inspires my work. I enjoy the spontaneity and freshness of working in plein air and find it to be invaluable experience when it comes to producing work in the studio. I work mostly with oil paints because of their texture and range of color.

I have taken numerous workshops, including workshops with Walt Bartman, Roger Dillar, Larry Horowitz, and Brian Murphy. I also frequently attend open figure drawing sessions.
